Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 and is an amount of money the government allocates to each school to close the attainment gap between those pupils coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, who may also be in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM), and their peers.

The funding is intended to support children who may be vulnerable to underachieving. Please read the information below which gives details on our pupil premium grant and how we allocate the funding. Please click the links below to see how Elm Hall spends the allocated funding.

Pupil Premium Statement

Intent

Our vision is for all learners needs to be understood; that every person working within our school is a champion of the disadvantaged; and that every pupil receives high quality teaching and learning.

The strategy at Elm Hall has been woven into the culture and values that we believe are a central part of improving the outcomes for all disadvantaged learners.

Based on the key core elements we determine as central areas we need to support, combined with consistent high expectations and challenge, we aim to develop the tools and strategies which enable the children to access high-quality teaching and, in turn, become successful learners.

Operational strategies utilised at Elm Hall are based on the following core areas that we have recognised as the main barriers for children in our school who are determined as disadvantaged and are the key focus areas of school improvement that can have the most impact:

  1. Relationships
  2. SEMH
  3. Language Development
  4. Attendance
  5. Life Experiences
